About 25 years ago, our founder, Steve Zaken, found himself with something unfamiliar: time. After selling his business, he was ready for his next challenge—he just didn’t know what it would be yet.

Then a friend handed him a pre-pasted toothbrush from overseas.

The idea clicked instantly. Portable. Convenient. Practical.

The bristles were rough. The taste was off. And the toothpaste didn’t even stay on the brush. Still, Steve couldn’t shake the thought: this should exist—just done right.

So he went looking for it.

Across Korea, Taiwan, China, Malaysia, and the Philippines, he visited nearly two dozen factories in search of a product that met his standards. What he found instead was confirmation—no one had gotten it right.

So he came home and decided to build it himself.

What followed was years of persistence and problem-solving. The biggest challenge? Keeping toothpaste fresh, effective, and great-tasting on a dry toothbrush.

Because flavor fades. It’s what happens when anything is exposed to air and moisture. Solving that required real innovation—working alongside chemists to develop a proprietary bonding process that locks in freshness directly onto the bristles. That breakthrough ultimately led to multiple patents.

From there, the focus shifted to refining the experience—ensuring every brush delivered the comfort, quality, and consistency people expect from their everyday routine. After more than three and a half years—and a significant investment—the result was simple: A pre-pasted toothbrush that actually works.
